Resident Permit Parking Application

    Dear Resident:

    Please be aware that the zones may change year to year. If your residence does not have residential zone signage in front of your address, you are likely not in the zone and do not need to complete this application.

    This application is for the 2020-2021 school year. Residents must reapply for permits each enforcement period, which follows the regular academic year. Applications made during the enforcement period will be considered for the current enforcement period. To apply for the next school year, please apply after August 10, 2020.

    Please remember:

    1. Parking permits are required for vehicles parked on public streets in the vicinities of:
      • Denfeld High School
      • East High School
      • University of Minnesota Duluth / College of St. Scholastica
    2. Permits must be displayed on vehicles parked on public streets while school is in regular session during the enforcement period. Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., September 1 – June 15.
    3. The fees for regular residential parking permits are as follows:
      • Resident’s Permit (assigned to vehicle) ............. $5.00 each
      • Visitor’s Permit (assigned to address) …............. $2.00 each
    4. Resident permits are limited to a maximum of three per dwelling unit.
    5. Visitor permits are limited to a maximum of two per dwelling unit.

    Landlords

    Landlords are not permitted to utilize residential permits unless they reside at the address. Applying for or keeping permits from this program would be a violation of the city ordinance and may be subject to vehicle citations or a civil fine.

    All applications received in June and July will be processed in August.

  • You will not receive a confirmation email upon submitting this form. A new sticker will be mailed to you within a week. Simply replace the old sticker with the new one when you receive it. If you have not received your new permit sticker within 2 weeks please contact parkingpermits@duluthmn.gov.

Resident & Visitor Permits

  • Each property address can receive up to 3 resident permits, which are assigned to specific vehicles. A resident permit costs $5.00 per vehicle.

  • Each property can receive up to 2 visitor permits that can be used for people visiting the property. A visitor permit costs $2.00 per permit.
