Application for Snow Removal Services
The Pilot Snow Removal Assistance Program Winter 2018/2019
The City of Duluth is offering a pilot project intended to assist seniors and people with disabilities with sidewalk snow removal. To be eligible, an individual must reside in Duluth, be over the age of 60 and/or have a disability. This program is for people who are not physically able to remove snow and do not have other resources to remove snow, such as neighbors, friends or a hired service.
This program has limited capacity and will operate on a first come, first served basis. City staff will match those requesting snow removal services with local volunteers. Snow removal needs to occur within 24 hours after two or more inches of snow has fallen and the snow has stopped. The Snow Removal Assistance Program provides for removal of snow from the door of the eligible residence to the sidewalk (including steps) and from the public sidewalk along the property (including curb ramps and curb cuts). Volunteers cannot clear snow from cars, driveways, multiple entryways, roofs, etc.
People receiving snow removal services should not invite volunteers into their homes and volunteers should not enter residents homes. Volunteers are not allowed to solicit or accept money, tips or gifts.
Waiver and Release
I recognize the dangers and possibility of injury associated with participating in the Pilot Snow Removal Assistance Program. I assume all risks in connection with this activity and acknowledge my participation is voluntary. I agree that the City, anyone acting on its behalf, and Snow Removal Assistance Program service recipients may not be held liable in any way for any event that occurs in connection with this activity which may result in injury or other damage to me or my property. This waiver does not apply to injuries or damage as a result of willful, wanton, or intentional misconduct by the City or anyone acting on its behalf, or Snow Removal Assistance Program service recipients. I agree to defend, indemnify, and hold the City, anyone acting on its behalf, and the Snow Removal Assistance Program service recipients harmless for any expense or liability as a result of my actions or omissions while performing this activity.

For example, your contact information is needed to provide information to you such as scheduling and cancellation information. By signing below, you are consenting to allow registration information to be shared with city staff and Snow Removal Assistance Program service recipients in order to administer this activity. This consent expires on May 1, 2019
